Before establishing my own accountancy business, I was a Senior Accountant at Price Waterhouse Coopers, the Assistant Controller at Scripps Clinic and Research Foundation, the Chief Financial Officer for Educational Marketing and Research, and a Field Auditor for the U.S. Department of Defense.
I am licensed to practice as a Certified Public Accountant by the state of California and a graduate of the University of Arizona in Tucson.
In 1999 I co-designed and began teaching the "Tax Boot Camp” at the University of San Diego which continued for fourteen years. I also taught Income Taxation at the University of California at San Diego. And I designed and developed the “Accounting, Bookkeeping and Taxation Certificate” program at California State University at San Marcos. And I was also an instructor for the San Diego Community College District.
I was the founder of the “La Jolla Certified Public Accountants Discussion Group”. I helped to organize the "San Diego Tax Institute", the “New Practitioners Empowerment Group”, and the “Management of Accounting Practice” group.
I have served as the president and board chairman of the San Diego Chapter of The California Society of Certified Public Accountants. And as the president and board chairman of the San Diego Chapter of the Society of California Accountants. I have been a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants since 1972.
